The importance of planning a website
Before we commit anything to code, we provide you with a detailed information architecture document that includes a site map, and a "wire frame" representation of all the unique templates required to build your website. This helps to ensure that nothing is overlooked. Without this plan, any additional requirements that are discovered after your site is in the development stage, could become costly to implement. It's like building a house without a plan, and deciding after the kitchen has been built that you want to move it downstairs. Not a cost effective way to proceed.

Your website budget
After our discussions and preliminary scoping of your requirements, we provide you with a fixed price quote for Stage 1 (architecture and creative - see below). We also provide you with an estimate for Stage 2 (web development - see below). Often during the information scoping of Stage 1, new requirements can emerge as part of this process.

We can also discover that some requirements may become redundant. For this reason, we only provide you with an estimate for Stage 2 until Stage 1 is complete. The extent of this scoping phase is relative to the size of the project.

The stages of your web project
Every stage of our process has a definite beginning and end, and all work is approved by you before moving to the next stage. This eliminates any possibility of miscommunication, and ensures that the end result is exactly as described.

Stage 2: Architecture and creative

• Strategy recommendations
  Based on the information we gather, we will truthfully recommend the way we believe you should approach your website, allowing room for growth and flexibility down the track.
   
• Information architecture documentation
  This document will include a site map, and detailed "wire frames" for each unique web page template annotated to indicate purpose and functionality. At the end of this process, we both know exactly what we are building, and how much it will cost.
   
• Quality Web design
  Our designs emerge from a blend of form, function and usability, and of course good aesthetics. We only begin the design process once all of your requirements have been documented and agreed upon.

Stage 3: Web development

Building your site
Once Stage 1 is completed and approved by you, we begin to build your website. The fist cut will be a flat site with no functionality, but will allow you to navigate around to see how your new site will look. The functionality is then built and implemented into the website. You will be able to view your site in a staging location before the site goes live.

Stage 4: Marketing strategy (optional)

Once you have your website up and running, how do you get visitors to your site? We can work with you to provide you with a number of different strategies to market your site to your target audience.
